Our Facilities
"A good horse makes short miles."
- George Elliot
Equestrian at Coworth Park is housed in the purpose built American barn stables of The Polo Club. All the Loddon boxes have rubber matting flooring and are supplemented with hemp bedding which is recycled for use around the estate by the gardeners. We also have an automatic waterer system which reduces wastage of water used, all these facilities are vital to our eco-conscious operation as they reduce the amount of waste created by the stables. We have a newly created separate grooming barn where the horses are prepared for riding and washed down after exercise, this will include an equine solarium which dries them off quickly and comfortably in winter months and helps keep the horses looking glossy and feeling fit all year round.
Setting out from the stables we have 240 acres of off-road hacking through our private estate, rides take in the views of the main house and estate cottages, the ponds, woodlands and the three international polo fields, whilst there are opportunities for a trot and canter on the oval gallop track with a synthetic sand and rubber surface.
For lessons on-site we use the fully fenced stick and ball field where we have a teaching paddock, 20 x 60 metre international dressage arena and an intermediate level show jumping course which can be altered to accommodate all levels of ability and confidence.
There will be an international size riding arena to come but in the meantime we can offer lessons with our instructors and horses off-site in either indoor or outdoor arenas with excellent surfaces.
